Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.91%
Shares of Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 5.07 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 4.82 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.5 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 3.46 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 3.21 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.91 per cent up at 20377.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 374.25 points at 22535.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1089.18 points at 74227.08.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 49 ended in the green, while 1 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, Zomato and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Mangalore Chem, NACL Industries, India Shelter Finance Corp, Atal Realtech and InterGlobe hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Precot Meridian, Gensol Engg, Accuracy Shipping, Modern Threads(India)Ltd. and Orchid Pharma hit their fresh 52-week lows.
