Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.19% in a weak market
Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 1.58 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.51 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(up 0.45 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.19 per cent at 20914.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 82.11 points at 23355.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 198.98 points at 76845.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, IDFC First Bank, NBCC , Wipro and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Binani Ind, Sangam Renewables, Shree Vasu Logistics, ICE Make Refrigeration and NACL Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, Vikas Multicorp, Kesoram Inds., Gensol Engg and SAB Events & Governance hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
