Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises
Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 2.14%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 1.64%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.47%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 1.28%), NMDC Ltd.(up 1.18%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 1.15%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 1.11%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 0.83%), Coal India Ltd.(up 0.76%) and MOIL Ltd.(up 0.30%) were among the top gainers.
Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 1.24%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.19%) and KIOCL Ltd.(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 279.05 points up at 24888.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 879.71 points at 81831.7 at around 11:06AM.
Eternal Ltd.(up 3.16%), ITC Ltd.(up 2.66%), Infosys Ltd.(up 2.44%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.15%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.15%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.09%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 2.08%), Trent Ltd.(up 1.95%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.89%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.87%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 2.84%) were trading in the red.
