Turnaround stocks: 10 companies that returned to profit in Q4 – Red to Black

In the March quarter of FY24, several companies transitioned from loss-making to profit-making. According to Ace Equity data, Piramal Pharma, Inox Wind Energy, BHEL, Sunteck Realty, Tejas Networks, and others turned profitable in Q4FY24. Here is the list:

Piramal Pharma clocked a profit of Rs 89.23 crore in the fourth quarter after an average loss of Rs 43 crore in the preceding three quarters. Revenue from operations, meanwhile, increased 18% year-on-year to Rs 2,552 crore.

SAMHI Hotels, a recent debutant at the bourses, registered a net profit of Rs 11.29 crore in the fourth quarter as compared to a loss of Rs 74 crore in the preceding December quarter.

Sagar Cements, Andhra-based cement manufacturer with a capacity of 10.6 mt, has turned the table, after three straight losses, by reporting a profit of Rs 11.59 crore in the fourth quarter.

Inox Wind Energy

Inox Wind Energy, which is in the business of wind turbine generators (WTGs) and wind energy solutions, recorded a profit of Rs 38.8 crore in the quarter ended March 2024. The company had seen losses of Rs 65 crore, Rs 59 crore and Rs 4 crore in the Q1, Q2 and Q3 of FY24, respectively.

BHEL recorded a profit of Rs 476 crore in the quarter ended March 2024. The company had seen losses of Rs 360 crore, Rs 250 crore and Rs 171 crore in the Q1, Q2 and Q3 of FY24, respectively.

Centrum Capital recorded a profit of Rs 39 crore in the quarter ended March 2024. The company had seen losses of Rs 65 crore, Rs 28 crore and Rs 18 crore in the Q1, Q2 and Q3 of FY24, respectively.

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy posted a profit of Rs 1 crore in the quarter ended March 2024. The company had seen losses of Rs 95 crore, Rs 55 crore and Rs 62 crore in the Q1, Q2 and Q3 of FY24, respectively.

Sunteck Realty reported a profit of Rs 102 crore in the quarter ended March 2024. The company had seen losses of Rs 6 crore, Rs 15 crore and Rs 10 crore in the Q1, Q2 and Q3 of FY24, respectively.
