Income Investors Beware: The Downside Risks Of Fixed Income Funds
Peter Richman MD MBA brings a scientific and evidence based approach to momentum investing and technical market analysis developed through an academic career as a Professor of Emergency Medicine and, previously, serving as Vice Chair for Research at the Mayo Clinic Hospital. Drawing from decades of experience in clinical research including the development and evaluation of risk assessment algorithms in emergency medicine, he applies principles of statistical analysis probability risk stratification and evidence based modeling to financial markets and tactical asset allocation. His finance research focuses on systematic momentum driven approaches designed to identify favorable risk reward conditions while reducing exposure during major market drawdowns. Recent work includes published SSRN papers involving a Hybrid Asset Allocation market cap rotation strategy and the Ternary Regime Asset Framework, a novel methodology for momentum based buy and sell signal assessment across financial markets and asset classes. Dr Richman has more than 25 years of experience studying technical analysis, momentum investing, and market behavior, and he was a standout student under the mentorship of well known market technician David Weis. He was also an early author of a series of investing education content for emergency physicians in Emergency Medicine News during the early 2000s. Dr Richman currently serves as Professor of Emergency Medicine and Research Director at an emergency medicine residency training program within the Texas A and M College of Medicine system. He has authored more than 90 peer reviewed clinical publications and has had over 165 original scientific presentations at national and international meetings including landmark cardiovascular resuscitation research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. In addition to his academic and finance research interests Dr Richman holds an MBA from the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and has extensive entrepreneurial and business experience including co founding the healthcare internet company MDChoice/Choice Media and advising multiple healthcare and medical technology ventures.
