Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises
Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(up 10.22%), GE Power India Ltd.(up 5.00%), Ravindra Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(up 5.00%), Orient Green Power Company Ltd.(up 4.99%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 4.96%), Karma Energy Ltd.(up 4.87%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.(up 3.39%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 2.00%) and Adani Power Ltd.(up 1.75%) stood among the top gainers.
Reliance Power Ltd.(down 3.55%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(down 3.01%), Torrent Power Ltd.(down 2.64%), Inox Wind Ltd.(down 1.85%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(down 1.63%), SJVN Ltd.(down 1.62%), NHPC Ltd.(down 1.45%), NLC India Ltd.(down 1.18%), CESC Ltd.(down 1.06%) and Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(down 0.58%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 16.5 points up at 24998.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 144.31 points at 81611.41.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 4.19%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.8%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.44%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.4%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.31%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.3%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.21%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.11%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.02%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.89%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla Ltd.(down 3.67%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.36%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 2.24%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.78%), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.73%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.56%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.49%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.47%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.33%) and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.23%) closed in the red.
