The Biggest Games Releasing in March 2025 – Decrypt

March 2025 is a big month in video games, simply for the fact that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally releasing after a handful of delays. 

The game has been controversial with fans, to say the least, but it’s also the most anticipated Assassin’s Creed game in years. 

This month also brings us wrestling, fragging, and living our best virtual lives.

For many gamers, this month is going to be a tough one because we’re all busy playing Monster Hunter Wilds, which was released on February 28. If that game hits for you, it’s the kind of thing that can take hundreds of hours if you want it to. 

That sounds like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and the early access life-sim game, Inzoi. In other words, you’d better clear your schedule—there’s a lot of gaming to do right now, and you’re not going to have time for silly things like eating, sleeping, or interacting with loved ones.

FragPunk

Release Date: March 6

This free-to-play hero shooter looks really cool. It has a stylish visual design and a great gameplay twist: shard cards. They do things like make your enemies’ heads bigger or leave glowing footprints, as well as eliminate control points from the map and even extend or shorten the time of the match itself. 

However, it’s releasing at a challenging moment. The legendary flop of Concord is still fresh in our minds—it’s not easy to make hero shooters successful. On the other hand, Marvel Rivals is still riding high, bringing more players to hero shooters than we’ve seen in a long time. 

Those are two significant challenges to overcome, and we’d love to see FragPunk make it work.

Split Fiction

From the studio behind A Way Out and It Takes Two comes its newest co-op adventure, Split Fiction. 

In this game, you’ll step into the shoes of two contrasting authors who get sucked into their own stories and have to help each other to escape. The entire game is played co-op via split-screen. 

But one thing that makes Hazelight games special is that they come with a “Friend’s Pass” that lets you share the game with one friend to play cooperatively—they don’t have to spend a dime, and they can play the whole game with you.

Suikoden I & II Remaster

Release Date: March 6
Platforms: PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

The Suikoden games are legendary among old-school Japanese role-playing game fans, partly because they both feature a staggering 108 characters to recruit. 

This remaster updates the game’s art and visual effects to modernize the game—without losing the pixel-art look—as well as adding auto-save and battle fast-forward features, because we don’t have time to do a zillion battles in JRPGs anymore.

WWE 2K25

Release Date: March 14
Platforms: PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

This time around, WWE 2K25 brings an unprecedented roster of 300+ wrestlers to play as. 

You’ll be able to play through the 2K Showcase “The Bloodlines,” a new MyRISE story campaign, and take the game online in MyGM. 

This is the first WWE game to include intergender wrestling, giving you many more options for exciting match-ups with your favorite wrestlers.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Release Date: March 20

For as long as we can remember, Assassin’s Creed fans have been begging for Ubisoft to take the stealth-action series to Japan so that we can have the chance to live out our ninja fantasies.

The game lets you step into the role of either the samurai Yasuke or the ninja Naoe, whether you want to go loud or stay in the shadows.

You can create your own shinobi league, customize your base, and more as you explore feudal Japan and master the two characters’ different play styles. 

And if you prefer one or the other, don’t worry—Ubisoft says that you can play the vast majority of the game as either character, so you won’t be forced to play as a character you aren’t enjoying.

Atomfall

Release Date: March 27
Platforms: PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

Taking pages from Fallout and Stalker, Atomfall is a survival-action game set in Northern England in the wake of a nuclear disaster. 

You’ll have to scavenge and craft to survive in the quarantine zone as you try to solve the mystery of what really happened in this strange place. 

In addition to its presence in digital storefronts, you’ll be able to play this on Xbox Game Pass on release day if you’re paying for one of the higher tiers.

Inzoi

Release Date: March 28
Platforms: PC (Steam)

Inzoi might be the first game to give The Sims a real run for its money after 25 years of dominance in the life-sim genre. 

This Korean-developed game launches on PC in early access at the end of this month, with consoles to follow when it gets a full release. 

Inzoi features detailed graphics that shift from the Sims’ cartoony style to something more photorealistic. Still, the game doesn’t seem to skimp on any of the customization elements that make these games such a compelling form of self-expression.
