Benjamin Graham: Father of Value Investing


Benjamin Graham was born on May 8, 1894, in London, England, and moved to New York City with his family when he was just one year old. He graduated from Columbia University in 1914, where he excelled in academics, graduating second in his class. After college, Graham started his career on Wall Street, where he quickly made a name for himself as a keen analyst and investor.

Graham’s career included roles such as:

  1. Partner at Newburger, Henderson, and Loeb
  2. Founder of the Graham-Newman Partnership
  3. Professor at Columbia Business School

He was also an acclaimed author, having written seminal works like “Security Analysis” and “The Intelligent Investor.”
