Central Banks: Bank Indonesia has a scheduled interest rate policy review. The Fed Beige Book of regional trends will be published, and Hammack and Williams are among the Fed officials with speaking engagements. Bank of Governor Bailey also speaks publicly.
Holiday and Special Events: France’s Bastille Day falls on Monday. Eurogroup and EcoFin meet early in the period, and the monthly OPEC Report arrives. Canada’s annual budget is being presented. There will be continuing trade talks.
Scheduled U.S. Economic Data Releases: Consumer prices, producer prices, import prices, industrial production, capacity usage, retail sales, housing starts, building permits, the U. Michigan index of consumer sentiment, the Empire State and Philly Fed manufacturing surveys, the NAHB housing market index and Treasury-compiled capital flows. Weekly jobless insurance claims, energy inventories, chain store sales, and mortgage applications.
Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese CPI, industrial production, capacity usage, trade balance, tertiary index and machinery orders. Chinese quarterly GDP and monthly trade balance, house prices, retail sales, industrial production, unemployment, capacity utilization, fixed asset investment, and foreign direct investment.
Selected Other Asian Items: Malaysian, Singaporean, Indonesian and Indian trade balances. Indian wholesale prices and CPI. South Korean unemployment and Singaporean GDP.
Euroland Releases: Current account, trade balance, construction output, index of leading economic indicators and ZEW expectations survey of investor sentiment.
Members of the Euro Area: German ZEW investor sentiment. Italian, Spanish, Slovakian, Cypriot, Austrian, and Croatian consumer prices. German and Portuguese PPI. Irish, Belgian, Spanish and Italian trade balances. Latvian and Italian current accounts.
U.K. and Swiss Data: British CPI, PPI, Rightmove house price index, same store sales, and index of leading economic indicators.
Eastern and Nordic Europe: Hungarian and Romanian industrial production. Danish, Czech and Austrian PPI. Bulgarian CPI.
Australia, New Zealand and South Africa: Australian jobless rate, employment growth, and Westpac consumer confidence. New Zealand food prices and service sector purchasing managers index. South African retail sales.
Canada, Brazil and Mexico: Canadian CPI, housing starts and manufacturing sales. Brazilian and Mexican indices of leading economic indicators.
