Central Banks: In addition to planned monetary policy reviews in Australia, India, Iceland, Egypt, Colombia and Jamaica, the Bank of Japan will publish the results of its quarterly Tankan survey of corporate conditions and expectations as well as a summary of its recent Board meeting. Monetary officials speaking publicly in the coming period will include BOJ Governor Ueda, Bank of England Governor Bailey and MPC members Mann and Ramsden, and Goolsbee, Williams, Musalem and Bostic of the Federal Reserve.
Holidays and Events: China’s National Day Holiday runs October 1-7, and Germany will be observing Unification Day on Friday. President Trump entertains the leaders of Israel, Pakistan and Turkey during the period.
Purchasing Manager Surveys: Numerous manufacturing and service sector PMI surveys will be reported next week.
Scheduled U.S. Economic Data Releases: The FHFA and Case Shiller house price indices, pending home sales, construction spending, unemployment, non-farm payroll employment, average hourly wages, ADP estimate of private jobs, JOLTS survey of job quits and hires, motor vehicle sales, factory orders, consumer confidence, and Dallas Fed manufacturing index. Weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories and chain store sales.
Japanese Data: Industrial production, retail sales, unemployment, housing starts, construction orders, monetary base, consumer confidence, and index of leading economic indicators.
Other Asia: South Korean and Indian industrial production. South Korean, Filipino and Indian trade balances. Indian and South Korean consumer prices. Malaysian and Singaporean producer prices.
Euroland Releases: Economic sentiment, consumer confidence, unemployment, CPI and PPI.
Members of the Euro Area: German, French, Spanish, Slovakian and Slovenian consumer prices. Italian, French, Cypriot, and Austrian producer prices. German, Spanish, Dutch, Croatian, Slovenian, Irish, Latvian and Portuguese retail sales. Austrian and Spanish current accounts. German import prices and unemployment. French and Cypriot industrial production. Finnish consumer confidence, Italian industrial sales, and French household spending.
U.K. and Switzerland: British GDP, current account, shop prices, Nationwide house price index, and mortgage approvals. Swiss GDP, retail sales, CPI and index of leading economic indicators.
Eastern Europe: Czech and Russian GDP. Bulgarian and Romanian PPI. Russian business confidence and unemployment.
Australia and New Zealand: Australian household spending, building permits and trade balance. New Zealand business sentiment.
