Securitize, the real-world asset tokenisation company, has appointed Brett Redfearn, a former Director of the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Trading and Markets, as President and as a member of its Board of Directors.
The hire is expected to bolster the firm’s regulatory credentials as it prepares for its next phase as a public company.
Redfearn has decades of experience spanning regulation, capital markets and digital assets.
He served as Director of the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets from 2017 to 2020, overseeing significant market structure reforms and guiding US markets through the extreme volatility of early 2020.
Prior to his public service role, he spent 14 years at J.P. Morgan, most recently as Global Head of Market Structure for the Corporate and Investment Bank. He subsequently served as Head of Capital Markets at Coinbase, focusing on building institutional participation in digital asset markets.
As President, Redfearn will work with Securitize’s leadership team to scale the company’s regulated platform across issuance, trading and fund administration, whilst driving engagement with regulators, exchanges and institutional partners.
He has served as Chairman of Securitize’s Advisory Board for the past four years, giving him deep familiarity with the business ahead of assuming the new role.
