Taxmann, EY India Unveil AI Platform for Tax and Legal Professionals
Taxmann, a leading tax and corporate law publisher, has launched Taxmann.AI, an AI-powered platform developed in partnership with EY India. The tool is designed to support tax and legal professionals in India with research, document analysis, and drafting tasks.
Taxmann.AI stands out by using verified content from Taxmann’s six-decade-old legal and tax database, making it more reliable than generic AI tools. It’s tailored specifically for India’s complex tax system.
In its first phase, the platform features an ‘Ask Bot’ that answers queries using relevant laws, circulars, case law, and expert commentary. A ‘Draft Bot’ will soon follow, helping users draft legal responses, flag compliance issues, and cite proper legal references.
Taxmann and EY India state that the platform incorporates robust security and privacy features to safeguard sensitive data. While it promises greater speed and efficiency, professionals remain cautious about relying solely on AI and emphasise the need for human oversight in legal matters.
