Thieves’ car breaks down during ATM gas station heist in New Mexico

Thieves recently attempted to steal an ATM from the Roadrunner Pit Stop gas station in Belen, New Mexico. Although they hooked the ATM onto a truck, the vehicle broke down before the suspects could flee the scene, according to a report by KOB 4.

Two individuals broke into the gas station with a sledgehammer and then tried to steal the ATM. The ATM itself was destroyed and the building was heavily damaged in the attack.

It is uncertain if the thieves took any money from the ATM. The investigation is ongoing.
