Built an automated market intelligence system after getting fed up with information overload — what do others use?
but normally i wake up Monday morning , have a brief look at the international indices ( and commodities prices )
and pick a sector on instinct , and then search various news feeds and see if there is a likely sell or buy near the open
after that i just watch the market ( in the areas i am focused ) for an opportunity ( i often disagree with the market , so the opportunities are not so rare .
i am mostly buying for the long term , so there is always tomorrow/next week for a missed opportunity or a second bite at one
the ‘big guys’ and their search engines often use key-words to cut through the pages of announcements , but that might not suit you as you are butting heads with the whales , sharks and bots
are you missing something ?
that is where hindsight comes in and you study the moves you missed ( but probably would have taken )
once you get all these insights into Monday’s trades your next hurdle will be adequate funds in the right place , it would be easy some days to spend too much .
good luck
