Central Banks: The European Central leads a list of monetary policy reviews that includes central banks in Russia, China, Turkey, Ukraine, and Hungary. Minutes of the last Australian policy review will be published. ECB President Lagarde, Deputy Governor Uchida, and RBA Governor Bullock speak publicly as do Fed Chairman Powell and Fed Board Governor Bowman.
Special Event: Half of Japan’s upper parliamentary chamber will be decided in an election this Sunday.
Scheduled U.S. Data Releases: Existing home sales, new home sales, durable goods orders, the K.C. and Richmond Fed manufacturing indices, the Chicago Fed National Activity index, and preliminary results from the July purchasing managers surveys (PMIs). Weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories, and chain store sales.
Euroland Releases: Consumer confidence, money and credit growth, and preliminary PMI results.
Members of the Euro Area: German and French PMIs. German, French, Italian, Dutch, Slovenian and Belgian consumer confidence. IFO Institute German business climate index, and business confidence in France and Italy. Spanish, Irish, Finnish, Latvian and Estonian producer prices.
British Releases: Preliminary PMIs, consumer confidence, Rightmove house price index and industrial trends orders sub-index.
Eastern Europe: Polish industrial production, retail sales and PPI. Russian industrial production and corporate profits. Czech business sentiment and consumer confidence.
Nordic Europe: Swedish and Icelandic producer prices and unemployment. Danish consumer confidence and Icelandic unemployment.
Japanese Releases: Tokyo consumer prices, corporate service prices, preliminary PMI results, and index of leading economic indicators.
Other Selected Asian Releases: Indian and Chinese indices of leading economic indicators. Consumer prices in India, Singapore and Malaysia. South Korean GDP and Indian preliminary PMI readings. South Korean business sentiment and consumer confidence.
Australia and New Zealand: Australian preliminary PMIs and Westpac index of leading economic indicators. New Zealand GDP and trade balance.
South Africa and Turkey: South African CPI and leading business cycle indicator. Turkish business sentiment and consumer confidence.
Canada, Mexico and Brazil: Canadian PPI, retail sales and manufacturing sales and orders. Mexican retail sales and Brazil’s current account.
